Staying at Makarska Riviera this summer could be the best thing that ever happened to you. Thanks to the unfortunate Covid-19 outbreak, the beaches are less crowded, the tours are easier to book, and the events are more concentrated on local artists presenting their talents. This means that, in a way, you have even more options than usual. And you can get more events and deals for less money and trouble.
Makarska Cultural Summer has already begun and it will last until August 30th. It will mostly focus on Dalmatian acapella singing groups, with some big music stars also giving performances (Massimo, Frajle, Vlatko Stefanovski, etc.) The program also includes a number of theater plays and art exhibitions, but also music festivals like Makarska Jazz Fest, Metno festival, and Festival of acapella groups and guitars. The brand new event that will be introduced this year, and hopefully will grow throughout the years is the first Festival of Classical Music. Big things are happening!
The other places on Makarska Riviera are also introducing events daily, and as they do, we will update our calendar and this article.
Make sure you drop by to Brela and enjoy the concerts and other events that will take place there. If you're a chess enthusiast, you can also apply to participate in the big Chess Simultaneous Exhibition on July 19th. You can apply here or here.
Social distancing is the new normal everywhere, and if you really want to avoid crowds on your vacation, you can always do things from this list. They include a lot of activities, that will make sure you get loads of fresh air. If you decide to go and visit Nature park Biokovo, the amazing new skywalk should be your number-one stop!
To help you navigate the Makarska Riviera area, we developed the free mobile app, containing all the basic info at the palm of your hand. Make sure you download the IOS or Android version of it for your phone. Be advised, the app is there as an orientation tool, and all the info there should be taken with a grain of salt. And when you get tired of exploring, find a nice spot in the shade of pines and cool off in the sea.
